In 2017 Nathan rode out Irma, a Cat 5 hurricane, with his recently widowed grandmother in Florida. He realized that in her retirement community many individuals stay home even during a mandatory evacuation as they physically or emotionally cannot leave their homes. After seeing this, Nathan knew his entreprenuerial mind could tackle this challenge and minimize deaths in areas where natural disasters strike.
